Belu delivers clean water to one person for one month for each bottle we sell. In addition, we commit any profits we make to fund even more water projects around the world.
In collaboration with Oxfam, WaterAid, and Fresh2O, Belu has thus far funded the installation of wells, hand pumps and rainwater harvesting technology in four countries: India, Mali, Bangladesh and Madagascar. These projects are rated to provide safe drinking water to over 43,264 people for at least fifteen years (delivering over 7 million months of water to people around the world).
Our current overseas project is rebuilding a 400 year old dam used for harvesting rainwater. The resulting reservoir will provide over 11,000 people with access to safe drinking water in Rajasthan, India.
Our current UK-based project is building a “rubbish collector” to remove nearly one tonne of floating litter from the River Thames each week. This rubbish would otherwise be washed out to sea adding to the pollution that can kill marine mammals, fish and birds.
